This is the second in a series of photos I took during my recent 9-day trip to Colombia. I began this photography tour with two days in Bogotá, a massive capital of nine million people (yes, it’s bigger than New York City). I just happened to arrive the day before the year’s largest annual labour demonstrations. To say I was “startled” is an understatement as I’m walking around the Plaza de Bolívar square in the central old city to see an entire squadron of riot police complete with body armor.
Shown above is their armored cavalry riot police – another first for me – armored horses!
