Portrait of Miami poet and art critic Ricardo Pau-Llosa

On Friday night I had the privilege of doing a formal portrait of renowned Miami poet and art critic Ricardo Pau-Llosa.  I photographed Pau-Llosa for Noor Blazekovic who is founder of IRREVERSIBLE-an international art project and who organized Friday’s panel discussion entitled, “Art & Prejudice: What is the real truth?” which was hosted by Books & Books in Coral Gables.  The discussion was moderated by Pau-Llosa who has been nominated for a Pulitzer and who was featured on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer (PBS), and the panelists included artists: marionette artist Pablo Cano, Alejandro Mendoza founder of the Giants in the City, Catherine Tafur & Tomas Esson.

A special thanks goes to Books & Books manager Steve Moss and staff who let me set up my portable studio inside the bookstore to take this portrait.  Live coverage of the panel event was conducted  by Jesus Manuel Rojas Torres and you can view the entire discussion at  WhatsUpMiami.blogspot.com.
