Richard “Dick” McCabe is the most modest subject I’ve every photographed. This was a portrait included in my “Faces of the Kennebunks” exhibit that was held at the Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk, Maine. People have asked to see some of the images from that exhibit, so I’m posting them for the first time on my blog. I really enjoyed photographing Dick because of his modesty.
Although he had won numerous NASCA North championships, set track records and even a Matchbox replica of his car was issued, he couldn’t understand why I would want to photograph and include him in an exhibit of some of the most interesting people from the Kennebunks. He actually thought I just wanted to photograph his cars when I showed up to his garage.
