“You don’t know what you’re capable of until you’re forced to swim” – Caroline Buisson – #YouWowMe 29

Caroline Buisson

The Barnacle Historic State Park (Miami-Dade’s oldest house which overlooks Biscayne Bay) must be a popular location for inspiration in Miami.  Two of the subjects I’ve photographed for my #YouWowMe project chose The Barnacle as the location for their photo shoot.

Caroline Buisson, the 29th subject, said The Barnacle was special to her because earlier this year she was going through a challenging time and needed some guidance.  So, one afternoon she walked the grounds by Biscayne Bay and at the end of her walk, she felt she knew what she had to do.

“You don’t know what you’re capable of until you’re forced to swim” — Caroline wishes to pass these words to the next person.  She explained that she was faced with a totally new situation in her life, wasn’t sure if she could handle it, but ended up responding quite well.  It was a growing experience for her that clearly has given a lot of confidence in dealing with future life challenges.

#YouWowMe –  the first-ever photography project to combine portraiture and personal words of inspiration which are passed to the next person — i.e. a “pay it forward” of inspirational photography.
